Washington, D.C. | April 26 2024 | Veterans Housing Rehabilitation and Modification Pilot Program (FR-6700-N-39), Department of Housing and Urban Development | The purpose of the Veterans Housing Rehabilitation and Modification Pilot Program (VHRMP) is to explore the potential benefits of awarding grants to nonprofit organizations to rehabilitate and modify the primary residence of veterans who are low-income and have disabilities. The funds made available under this program will be awarded competitively. A number of America’s veterans who are low-income and have disabilities are in need of adaptive housing to help them regain or maintain their independence, are unable to fund significant home repairs, or are burdened by utility costs. In partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, HUD designed the VHRMP to test a new approach to address these challenges…The VHRMP provides competitive grants of up to $1 million each to nonprofit organizations that provide nationwide or statewide programs that primarily serve veterans and/or low-income individuals. The grants may be used to modify or rehabilitate eligible veterans’ primary residences or to provide grantees’ affiliates with technical, administrative, and training support in connection with those services.

Washignton, D.C. | April 28 2023 | Preventing Youth Overdose: Treatment, Recovery, Education, Awareness and Training (TI-23-022), Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration | The purpose of this program is to improve local awareness among youth of risks associated with fentanyl, increase access to medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) for adolescents and young adults screened for and diagnosed with opioid use disorder (OUD), and train healthcare providers, families, and school personnel on best practices for supporting children, adolescents, and young adults with OUD and those taking MOUD.
 
Washington, D.C. | April 28 2023 | American History and Civics Education: Presidential and Congressional Academies for American History and Civics Program ( ED-GRANTS-042823-001), Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE) | The Academies Program supports the establishment of (1) Presidential Academies for the Teaching of American History and Civics that offer workshops for both veteran and new teachers to strengthen their knowledge of American history, civics, and government education (Presidential Academies); and (2) Congressional Academies for Students of American History and Civics that provide high school students opportunities to enrich their understanding of these subjects (Congressional Academies).
 
Washington, D.C. | April 24 2023 | Modeling and Simulation Program (MSP) (ED-GRANTS-042423-001), Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE) | The MSP is designed to promote the study of modeling and simulation at institutions of higher education (IHEs) through collaboration with new and existing programs, and specifically to promote the use of technology through the creation of accurate models that can simulate processes or recreate real life, by–(a) Establishing a task force at the Department to raise awareness of and define the study of modeling and simulation; (b) Providing grants to IHEs to develop new modeling and simulation degree programs; and (c) Providing grants for IHEs to enhance existing modeling and simulation degree programs.
 
Springfield, Ill. | April 21 2023 | Gov. Pritzker Announces $16 Million in Funding for Climate Works Pre-Apprenticeship, Barrier Reduction Programs | Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) today launched $10 million in funding for the Climate Works Pre-Apprenticeship Program and $6 million for the Energy Transition Barrier Reduction Program as part of the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA). The programs will increase training opportunities in the trades, expand the clean energy talent pipeline, and boost diversity in the clean energy trade industries by providing resources to limit barriers to participation. The programs will be run through training partners which will be selected through a competitive Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) process.
 
Washington, D.C. | April 18 2023 | Rural Postsecondary and Economic Development (RPED) Grant Program (ED-GRANTS-041823-003), Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE) | The purpose of the RPED Grant Program is to improve rates of postsecondary enrollment, persistence, and completion among rural students through development of career pathways aligned to high-skill, high-wage, and in-demand industry sectors and occupations in the region.
 
Washington, D.C. | April 14 2023 | Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions (DHSI) Program (ED-GRANTS-041423-002), Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE) | The DHSI Program provides grants to assist Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) with expanding educational opportunities for, and improving the academic attainment of, Hispanic students. DHSI Program grants enable HSIs to expand and enhance the academic offerings, program quality, faculty quality, and institutional stability of colleges and universities that are educating the largest enrollment of Hispanic college students and help large numbers of Hispanic students and other low‑income individuals complete postsecondary degrees.
 
Springfield, Ill. | April 13 2023 | IDOT invites applications for $2.5 million in transit grants | The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that applications are now being accepted for a competitive grant program that aims to expand safe, equitable access to public transportation throughout the state. Selected projects will feature transit opportunities while furthering the goals of IDOT’s Illinois Long-Range Transportation Plan.

Economic Development Administration | DA’s Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship is seeking applications from eligible applicants to create and implement innovative science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) work-based learning models (such as Registered Apprenticeships) that complement their respective region’s innovation economy. The STEM Talent Challenge seeks to develop or expand regional workforce capacity to support high-growth, high-wage entrepreneurial ventures, industries of the future (which usually includes industries that leverage emerging technologies), and other innovation—driven businesses that have a high likelihood of accelerating economic competitiveness and job creation in their respective regions and in the United States.

Depending on the nature of an applicant’s proposed project, youth and family partnership could consist of one or more of the following: Individual-level partnership in case planning and direct service delivery (before, during, and after contact with youth-serving systems); Agency-level partnership (e.g., in policy, practice, and program development, implementation, and evaluation; staffing; advisory bodies; budget development); and, System-level partnership (e.g., in strategic planning activities, system improvement initiatives, advocacy strategies, reform efforts).
 
Washington, D.C. | April 5 2023 | DOL Building Pathways to Infrastructure Jobs Grant Program (FOA-ETA-23-31), Employment and Training Administration | The purpose of the DOL Building Pathways to Infrastructure Jobs Grant Program is to fund public-private partnerships to develop, strengthen, and scale promising and evidence-based training models in H-1B industries and occupations critical to meeting the goals of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and to maximize the impact of these investments…The DOL Building Pathways to Infrastructure Jobs Grant Program represents a down payment for the future skilled workforce needs that are being developed through the BIL investments by investing in the development and expansion of the workforce partnerships that will be needed to build equitable pathways to good infrastructure jobs.
 
Springfield, Ill. | April 4 2023 | Illinois EPA Announces $27 Million Notice of Funding Opportunity for Electric School Buses | Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Illinois EPA) Director John J. Kim today announced a $27,023,485 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to fund the replacement of existing diesel school buses with new all-electric school buses located and operated in any of the three priority areas outlined in the Beneficiary Mitigation Plan (BMP). Illinois EPA will also fund a portion of new electric charging equipment if charging infrastructure is needed. This opportunity continues the Pritzker Administration’s commitment to focus Illinois’ remaining Volkswagen (VW) Settlement funding on electric transportation and infrastructure.
 

Springfield, Ill. | April 3 2023 | Illinois Announces $175M in B2B Grant Funding | Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (IDCEO) on March 21 announced that $175 million in new Back to Business (B2B) grant funding will be available starting April 5 and running through May 10. This round of B2B funding includes $50 million for restaurant grants of $5,000 to $50,000, $75 million for hotel grants of up to $1,500 per room and $50 million in creative arts grants of $5,000 to $250,000.

Chicago, Ill. | April 27 2023 | Comcast’s Black Experience on Xfinity awards $1 million in grants to ten emerging Black filmmakers in celebration of its two-year anniversary | In celebration of its two-year anniversary and its commitment to support authentic Black content and creators, Comcast NBCUniversal’s Black Experience on Xfinity recently announced the winners of its $1 million in Emerging Black Filmmaker grants.  Chicago filmmakers Eric D. Seals, Jr. and Stefanie Philpott are among the 10 winners.  Winners were selected for their ability to tell engaging and culturally relevant stories about the African, African American, or other Afro subcultural experiences or perspectives through a feature film, documentary, or web series

Springfield, Ill. | April 14 2023 | Gov. Pritzker Announces $14 Million In Grant Awards For  Human Service Providers | Governor JB Pritzker today joined the Department of Human Services (IDHS) and the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), along with state and local officials to announce over $14 million in awards to 70 human services providers throughout the state. The grants are being provided through the first-ever competitive Human Services Capital Investment Grant program, designed to help social service providers address physical construction and accessibility needs.

Chicago, Ill. | April 10 2023 | Chicago community lenders among recipients of grants announced by VP Kamala Harris | The Biden administration is awarding more than 600 community lenders $1.7 billion in grants from a Treasury Department program intended to help small businesses recover from the Covid-19 pandemic…A total of thirteen groups in the Chicago area received grants, 11 in Chicago. 

Springfield, Ill. | April 7 2023 | Gov. Pritzker unveils Illinois grants for tourism, festivals and the arts | The state of Illinois will receive a big boost of more than $22 million in grant funding to help support tourism, festivals and attractions across the state…Individual grant awards range from $15,000 to $500,000 with an average award of $250,000.
